"La classe 50 pieds détient enfin sa course au large."
"Dinard, November 26th 2005
On the 23rd of July 2006, the second edition of the Dinartica will start.
Once again, the whole “Ame du large” team and the city of DINARD are mobilized around this wonderful event, and are working together with the necessary self-sacrifice in order to make this manifestation one of the most important event in the region.
For this second edition, we have brought a few essential modifications in order to guarantee the race to take place.
First we have rescheduled the departure date one month later, which permit to integrate this event into the planning of the city of DINARD summer manifestation program. Thus, we will offer this wonderful spectacle to the holyday-makers.
This year, our neighbour will organize “La Route du Rhum”. Thus, in order to participate to this magnificent event, our second leg will qualify the skippers for the 2006 edition of “La route du Rhum”.
Finally, as we felt in 2004, the number of 50 feet-long open boat is increasing and will certainly be the most represented category this summer (6 have already registered and many shall come). At this point, I would like to thank gratefully Mr. Hervé CLERIS, president of the 50 feet-long open boat association, for his support and his dedication to our cause.
The 50 feet-long open boat association finally has its own open sea race, and will never be under covered by another category in the Dinartica.
As a conclusion I would like to pay tribute to the “Crêpes Whaou” team, its skipper, Franck Yves ESCOFFIER, and his son Kevin, for their great victory in the last edition of “La transat Jacques Vabre”. This is the victory of a full time investment of the skippers and their sponsor that have never ceased to believe in the 50 feet-long open boat category.
